Fab. Five for Friday (a day late) and some NEWS!!

Hi gals, sorry my Friday post is a day late...I had to take my car in to get tires changed yesterday after school so didn't have time for a posting. BUT..I've been hard at work pinning so let's get to my Fabulous five pins for this week. Again, I've been pinning so much lately that I'm having a difficult time narrowing down all of my fabulous pins. Feel free to check out my pinterest board to see what I've been up to! All of my pins this week have a common theme...sorry, no educational pins this week!

Isn't this picture SO adorable?? I love the idea  of my dad (or any dad) having this picture framed in their office or at home :)

Have guests sign puzzle pieces with advice/best wishes. Put the puzzle pack together, frame it and display in your home!

This is a MUST HAVE. I always tear up at weddings when I see the bride walking down the aisle with her Daddy. Can you tell I'm a daddy's girl??! haha

When I get married, I totally want a set of photos like these!! Gotta remember to bring some sparklers!!

How beautiful is this table arrangement?? I think that candles make all wedding look so elegant!!

SO..does anybody notice a common theme with all of my pins for this week?! Yup, you got it!! They're all about weddings.......Why??

I GOT ENGAGED!!! :)

On Tuesday, the boyfriend and I went on a hike...Once we got to the top he wanted to take a photo of me looking out at the scenery (he's been getting a little into photography lately and has been wanting to take photos like that) so the good girlfriend I am..I decided t model for him. He was taking a bit long to snap the photo so I turned around and he was down on one knee with a ring!!!! I was SO SHOCKED and it was completely unexpected. Of course, I said yes.and I am so excited for all that we have ahead of us. I must say that this was probably by far my most favorite hike I've ever taken..or ever will take. I went up the mountain with a boyfriend and came back down with a fiancee!! :) All the pain in my legs and the tiredness I was feeling when I was going up...totally disappeared on the way down! haha.

Yay! Fall Break and Fab. Five

WOOHOO! It is finally here! I thought I would never make it to today..Fall break. This means that I have 10 days to sleep in, relax, and catch up on the work I have fallen behind on.. including blogging :)

I'll leave you with my fab. five for today :D  (sorry for the excessive use of happy faces..I just can't stop smiling!!)

I had to laugh at this pin because I often get so caught up in organizing and setting up for the year I almost think that I think this! lol Too bad my organization gets lost in all my crazy piles :/ Yes, I admit it..I'm a piler!!

I love this adorable sign! Totally having this at MY wedding :)

Yes!! I feel that teachers are too often needing to defend their jobs...

This is so cute, I definitely need to do this!! If you can't see..the apple says "An apple for the teacher is really nothing new, except when you remember parents are teachers too."

Ah! I just can't help it with the Christmas pins!!This was just too adorable.

Fab. Five for Friday

Uhm. YES! I know that I am feeling it and I know many other of you bloggers are too!

Uhm. YES! I know that I am feeling the 'teacher tired' and I know many other of you bloggers are too!

Yes! I  AM pinning and getting ready for Christmas already!! It is my FAVORITE time of year! This will make for a super cute christmas ornament. All you need is double stick tape! How genius!

How cute are these peonies?? They are made out of coffee filters!!

This poster should be hung in every teacher's lounge. I think way too many of us teachers stress about things beyond our control. This is something I am working on..but still am not very good at :/ HAHA. I should hang this up in my bedroom and bathroom so I can look at it daily!!

Loving everything about this outfit, especially that AMAZING watch! I swear I am not a watch person (I posted about another watch in my previous fab. five), I don't even OWN a watch. I'm thinking I need to get a few this holiday season ;)

Fab. Five for Friday (a day late) so a Freebie to Make it Up.

I'm about to head out the door in just a bit to go and work some more in my classroom, so this will have to be a quick post! On to my late fab five and a freebie at the end to make it up to you!

I absolutely love all of the super cute ways to do a save the date! Perfect for those of you who are getting married!! I'm currently waiting for my rock ;) haha

This seems easy enough to do each morning..especially if you will look like that girl in that picture..totally worth it, right?!

I'm loving all of these fabulous tutorials from all of the great Bloggers. It's such a help to newbies, like myself! Thanks Angella!!

This is such a cute wedding/bridal shower gift. You can give them 5 bottles of wine each with a poem for firsts: champagne for first married night, red wine for first fight, white wine for first Christmas eve, Rose for first anniversary and sparkling apple juice cider for first baby! You can also add the glasses too!

Also loving this! This is like a box top piggy bank..you can just leave on your desk and kids can deposit when they bring them to school!! Such a great idea.

This is my freebie

I use these home lunch tags with my attendance chart. I love these OWL attendance cards, they are so simple.

The cards are double sided- if a student is absent they have an empty nest..if they are present the nest has an owl who is ready to learn! I wish they had cuter cards that matched my theme, but I continue to use these year after year since they serve the purpose I need and are fairly cheap year to year. All my kids do is stick their home lunch tag into their pocket and the attendance monitor can easily complete their job.

You can pick up my free home lunch tags at my TPT Store. All I ask is that you leave some feedback and/or a comment telling me about your attendance taking procedures..I'd love to hear how attendance is done in your room!

Fab. Five for Friday and Area and Perimeter Spelling

Awhile ago, I posted about the spelling contract that I use with my kids. Its available in my TPT store. I've also added in the worksheet that my students use to find the area and perimeter of each of their spelling words. This sheet has really been a hit with the kids. They LOVE finding the area/perimeter of their words and are truly able to grasp the concepts with this spelling sheet. I've uploaded a few examples for you, since it may be confusing at first :P
Students begin by writing their words in the boxes. I remind them it's kind of like writing when in Kindergarten with the lined paper. Tall letters go up to the roof, and letters like p and q go downstairs tot he basement.

Students then must outline each word with a  highlighter or marker. This is where many students make mistakes, so its important for them to go slowly. They outline only the boxes that have writing in them.

Then, they find the area and perimeter of each word. I have my students label each side for the perimeter then cross it off as they add them up..so they don't get confused.
Let me know if you have any questions about this sheet!! Again, it's available in my TPT Store..and If you'd like to read more about my spelling contract you can read my earlier post :)

Onto my Fab. Five for Friday

I'm loving this no name paper hanger. When students don't write their names on their paper, all you do is clip it up. Students are responsible for checking to see if it's theirs..No more wasting time trying to figure out who's paper belongs to who..

This is such a cute idea!!! Pencil dispenser..Although, I can imagine kids just wanting to get pencils so they can pull that thingy down and see their pencil fall out. I remember loving to get straws from this dispenser as a child.

This site has 72 ways to cut your spending my hundreds a month, and thousands a year. I really need to start budgeting my money better...I really have a problem spending on shopping and food!! If you don't already know by my pins..I LOVE food!! I've been having house fever for awhile, I really really want to buy ahouse..it is killing me paying rent (for the past 4 years) I feel as if I'm throwing my money away :( when it could be going to a mortgage payment...

Has anybody ever tried this diet before?? It seems pretty easy..especially since I LOVE fruits and veggies. I'm a skeptic though and don't think you could really lose 10 pounds in 7 days. Doesn't really sound healthy to me either :/ haha Ive been wanting to try it out though..just to see if it really works. lol

I've been having to motivate myself lately with these kinds of pins to hit the gym and just work out. I've never really understood what people meant when they said "i have to get ready for bikini season' since I was always one of those really skinny people that ate a lot...although during and after college..it totally caught up to me!! I put on so much weight and have a hard time losing it and/or keeping it off!! My best friend and I are taking a mini vacation to Maui to the Grand Wailea Hotel. It is beautiful..and I need to get in shape to wear a bikini!!!   :P

BTW..Is anybody else excited that Magic Mike is coming out today?!?! Anybody going to watch it today?? I'm off to round up some girlfriends to check it out this afternoon..Oh the joys of not having school!!

Fab. Five for Friday

I'm really loving these state brochures I saw on Pinterest this week. I'm thinking of doing a year-long project where students will research school in different states, find an address and write to them asking for certain information to complete their brochures. Once they hear back, they could work on their brochure and then present it to the class. This could also be used as oral presentation grades!!

I'm also loving this brown saddlebag. I love the color, don't have anything in this color yet. My bf doesn't like me looking at bags anymore since he just bought me a LV last Christmas :P haha

Loving my new teacher  tool box!! :D Can't wait to fill this up with goodies when I head back to room...that is when I can bring my lazy but to driving over!

Can you believe it?? I actually MADE one of my pinterest recipes!! This was SO YUMMY!!! and SO EASY! This would be such a quick prepare on a busy weekday. I also added shrimp in here..just cooked it up with a little olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.

Last week, in my fab. five I posted about the white board that had bulletin board dividers. I Love this idea about adding magnets to the back!! OR if you're not cheap (like me), you could splurge and buy magnetic borders from really good stuff.

Fab. Five for Friday

I ordered a Cricut on Sunday, and it just arrived today!! I am so excited to open it up, buy some cartridges and get going on making some super cute crafts!! But before I do I must finish the product I've been working on to upload to my TPT store. Until then, I would love some advice from all of you cricut users. I just ordered the Cricut Expression. Any advice, tips, favorite cartridges, types of papers, project, etc you would like to share with me?? I'll probably head out sometime next week to find a place to pick up all of my paper and cartridges so any leads would be awesome :)

I took a short break from pinning for awhile since I was so busy towards the end of the year..but I'm happy to say I'm back into pinning and am going full force :) I have some awesome pins to share with you this week!

Now

I am totally loving this room for a sweet little girl. I saw this room when I went house shopping today with my brother and sister in law..I just had to take a pic :) The flowers and birds on the wall are little wire sculptures! How cool is that!

I'm also loving this super cute and simple tissue paper flower to dress up gift bags or even wrapped presents!!

This is almost the same setup as my white board at school but I'm really liking the decorative borders!! I'm not sure what this teacher uses to separate her objectives but I use this colored tape like thing..not super sticky but stays onto the board and comes off with no mess.

Although it's summer time, all of us bloggy teachers are also thinking ahead for the next school year. This is the smartest thing ever! Use plastic table covers for your bulletin board backgrounds. I'm not sure about you but I know the paper that I use at school that claims to be fadeless...always fades (really bad). Plus, these are such bright and bold colors!!

Of course, I need to include some fancy nails!! I absolutely love these nails!! I'm usually one for uniformity when it comes to getting my nails done but they all go so well together. I especially love the one glittery nail :)

Stay tuned for my fab. five pins for next week...or feel free to follow my pins on pinterest and you can keep yourself updated with my pinning obsessions :D

Fab. Five for Friday

It has been awhile since my last post, I even missed last Friday's Fab Five. Please accept my dear apologies, this time of year is hectic for us all! I have been getting my kiddos geared up for state testing so I haven't had much time for blogging. We have been going over testing strategies,  practicing, and learning the last of our math concepts for the year. I'm feeling pretty confident and crossing my fingers they do well :) I'm also two weeks away from my big brother getting married! On top of testing and all the end of year responsibilities teachers have.... I'm fulfilling my bridesmaid duties. We will also be taking her out for a fun bachelorette party this weekend!! Anyways..don't want to bore you so here is my Fab Five, a combination from this week and last :)

This is such a great idea! I am loving anchor charts, especially with all of the cute ideas on pinterest. My room is getting way too crowded with my charts and I am also running out of line space. I like the idea of taking a picture of your chart, then putting those pictures into a binder. Children can refer to this binder when in need of that specific strategy they are searching for!

I'm also totally loving everything about this outfit!! It would be great with a cute pair of flats for school. Add the heels and purse for a night out with the girls or date night!! :)

My goal this summer is to familiarize myself with Daily 5 and CAFE so that I can implement this for next school year. I hate to say it but I really think that I am a poor reading teacher. I know that according to state testing, reading scores are usually supposed to be significantly higher than math; but my math scores are usually higher than reading :( I need to get on it!!!

Do any of you own a Keurig?? I love this organizer and need to get one for my K-cups!!

Last but not least, I love this cute timeline for a wedding :)
